Agenda

성수동에는 두 개의 중심 축이 존재한다. 과거 성수를 이끌었던 수제화 거리와, 현재 성수를 대표하는 패션 거리가 그것이다. 두 거리는 성수역을 중심으로 나뉘어 서로 다른 시대의 문화를 상징한다.
본 프로젝트는 이 두 거리의 교차점, 성수의 중심 부지에 위치한 ADER ERROR 사옥 설계안이다. 건축물은 ‘계단’이라는 조형적 개념을 통해 성수의 과거와 현재, 그리고 미래를 잇는 상징적 구조로 계획되었다. 계단은 상승과 연결의 의미를 담아, 브랜드의 실험적 정체성과 성수의 도시적 에너지를 동시에 표현한다.
저층부에는 광장을 조성하여 누구나 자유롭게 머물고 교류할 수 있는 공공 공간을 마련하였다. 이는 복잡한 도시 조직 속에서 일상과 문화가 만나는 새로운 중심이자, 성수를 대표하는 도시적 랜드마크로서 기능하도록 의도되었다.

Seongsu-dong is defined by two main cultural axes: the Handmade Shoe Street, which once led the district’s identity, and the Fashion Street, which now represents its contemporary spirit. These two streets are divided by Seongsu Station, symbolizing the transition from the area’s industrial past to its creative present.
This project proposes the ADER ERROR Headquarters at the intersection of these two axes — a new urban landmark that bridges Seongsu’s past and future. The building adopts the form of a “stair,” a symbolic gesture representing ascent, transition, and connection. Through this form, the design reflects both the experimental character of the brand and the dynamic urban energy of Seongsu.
At the lower level, an open plaza is created to offer a generous public space where visitors and locals can gather and rest within the dense urban fabric. More than just a corporate headquarters, the project aims to become an inclusive cultural platform — a place where daily life, community, and creativity converge in the heart of Seongsu.

Concept

성수동은 과거 수제화 거리를 중심으로 성장한 산업의 도시이자, 현재 패션 거리를 중심으로 변화하고 있는 창조적 지역이다. 두 거리는 성수역을 기준으로 서로 다른 시대의 축을 형성하며, 성수의 변화를 상징적으로 드러낸다.
그러나 빠른 도시 변화 속에서 성수는 점차 과거의 명성을 잃어가고 있다. 본 프로젝트는 이러한 성수의 역사적 정체성을 회복하고, 새로운 도시적 활력을 불어넣기 위한 제안으로서 성수역 앞 부지에 위치한 ADER ERROR 사옥 설계안이다.
건축의 주요 개념은 ‘계단’이다. 계단은 과거와 미래를 잇는 연결의 장치로서, 상승과 변화의 상징을 담는다. 이를 통해 브랜드의 실험적 정체성과 성수의 산업적 유산을 동시에 재해석하였다.
이 프로젝트는 단순한 기업 사옥을 넘어, 지역의 역사와 문화를 이어주는 도시적 매개체이자, 성수의 과거와 미래를 연결하는 새로운 랜드마크로 자리 잡는 것을 목표로 한다.

Seongsu-dong is a district shaped by two cultural axes: the Handmade Shoe Street, which supported its industrial past, and the Fashion Street, which represents its contemporary creative identity. These two streets are divided by Seongsu Station, symbolizing the split between different eras of the district’s evolution.
However, amid rapid urban transformation, Seongsu is gradually losing the prominence it once held. This project proposes the design of the ADER ERROR Headquarters on the site directly in front of Seongsu Station as an architectural strategy to restore the district’s historical identity and reinvigorate its urban vitality.
The central design concept is the “Stair.” The stair serves as a symbolic device that connects the past and the future, embodying notions of ascent, transition, and renewal. Through this form, the design reinterprets both the brand’s experimental character and the industrial heritage of Seongsu. This project aims to function not merely as a corporate building but as an urban mediator—a new landmark that bridges Seongsu’s past and future while contributing to the cultural continuity of the district.

Site

대상지는 성수역과 직접 맞닿아 있는 입지로, 역을 나서는 시민들이 가장 먼저 마주하는 도시의 관문 역할을 한다. 부지의 북측에는 수제화 거리가, 남측에는 패션 거리가 위치해 성수의 과거와 현재를 동시에 접하는 지점이 된다.
그러나 주변 일대에는 시민들이 머물고 휴식할 수 있는 충분한 녹지 및 개방 공간이 부족하여, 유동 인구에 비해 공공적 여유 공간이 현저히 제한된 상태이다.

The project site is directly adjacent to Seongsu Station, making it the first point of encounter for pedestrians exiting the station. To the north lies the Handmade Shoe Street, while to the south stretches the Fashion Street, positioning the site at the intersection of Seongsu’s past and present.
However, the surrounding area lacks adequate green and open spaces where people can rest, resulting in limited public amenities despite the district’s high pedestrian flow.

Program

1층에는 유동 인구가 자연스럽게 유입되고 머물 수 있도록 개방형 카페 프로그램을 배치하였다. 이 공간은 주변에 부족한 휴식 기능을 보완하며, 방문객과 지역 주민이 함께 이용하는 도시적인 완충 공간으로 작동한다.

An open, ground-floor café is introduced to invite natural pedestrian flow and provide a place for visitors to dwell. This space supplements the area’s lack of resting amenities and serves as an urban buffer zone, accommodating both local residents and passersby

2층에는 브랜드의 정체성을 직접 경험할 수 있는 ADER ERROR 플래그십 스토어를 배치하였다.

The second floor houses an ADER ERROR flagship store, offering visitors a direct experience of the brand’s identity.

5층부터는 오피스 프로그램이 배치되며, 각 층마다 외부 테라스를 두어 업무 공간과 도시 환경이 자연스럽게 연결되도록 계획하였다.

From the fifth floor upward, the building functions as office space, with outdoor terraces incorporated on each level to create a seamless connection between the workplace and the urban environment.
